OUR STORY
IBN ENVIRONMENTAL & GEOMATICS

IBN Environmental & Geomatics was founded in spring 2021 to support offshore wind development on the U.S. Atlantic coast, including
full-time work on the first commercial-scale project offshore Massachusetts. This groundbreaking project informed IBN's contributions to additional offshore wind projects in the region.

The founder of IBN paused small business operations for three years to hold leadership roles at two multinational developers, where she honed her skills managing teams and supporting renewable projects across the U.S.

Reincorporated in the U.S. in 2025, IBN returns with a broader network of collaborators, ready to deliver innovative solutions to project challenges in the environmental and geomatics space.

Our business approach is rooted in ecosystem principles: small teams comprised of individual subject matter experts, from both the U.S. and Canada, with deep technical expertise collaborating efficiently with each other and specialized consultancies to outperform traditional large firms in both service quality and delivery. Through our trusted network, we assemble the right experts to meet each project's unique challenges.
OUR LOGO

At IBN Environmental & Geomatics, our logo is more than just a visual— it's a symbol of who we are and what we stand for. Designed with intention, it reflects our values, our connection to nature, and the way we work.

The green and blue colors represent the terrestrial and marine environments where our expertise lies, both central to Cynthia's professional journey. Look closely to see subtle forms hidden within the design: the mirrored green shape reveals a butterfly (and a 'B'), symbolizing transformation and resilience, while the blue half mirrors into a whale tail, representing depth and strength. If you let your creative mind wander, you will also see all three letters of our acronym woven into the form (hover over the logo for deconstruction on your desktop).

The logo's hexagonal shape nods to nature's most efficient design. Charles Darwin once described the honeycomb as “absolutely perfect in economizing labor and wax”—an ideal metaphor for how we aim to work: efficiently, collaboratively, and with purpose.

Together, these elements embody our core values—respect for ecosystems,
creativity grounded in science, and thoughtful, efficient problem-solving.
Our logo is a small but powerful reflection of the bigger mission that drives us.
DID YOU KNOW?
While renewable energy projects like wind farms can impact birds, feral and outdoor domestic cats kill roughly 10,000 times more birds each year than wind turbines. With 75% of North American bird populations declining over the past decade, IBN Environmental & Geomatics supports both mitigation planning to reduce bird strikes, and local cat rescue efforts.

A portion of IBN's income is donated to small, woman-led nonprofits that work tirelessly every day to trap, neuter, and rehome street cats - helping protect both cats and birdlife.
