Supporting Conservation through Compassion

As the Holiday season is upon us, I am taking some time to reflect on IBN Environmental & Geomatics first year in business in the US, and specifically the commitment I made on behalf of the company to donate a portion of IBN's income to small, woman-led non-profits that work tirelessly every day to trap, neuter, and rehome street cats, work that protects both cats and the environment.

2025 Giving Highlights
In 2025, IBN directed significant financial and in-kind contributions to two small but mighty non-profits led by women who are making a real difference in their communities. These organizations reflect my values: compassion, stewardship, and practical solutions that benefit both animal welfare and the broader environment:
🐾 Cat Canton Rescue (catcantonrescue.org)
A grassroots team of volunteers that focuses on trapping, neutering, fostering, and socializing for adoption, local stray cat populations in the Canton/Randolph/Brockton/Sharon, Massachusetts area. Their hands-on work helps minimize predation pressure on nearby bird habitats while securing loving homes for dozens of cats.
🐾 Soft Paws Cat Sanctuary (softpawsloreto.org)
Soft Paws is the only cat shelter in Baja California Sur. They are building much-needed long-term solutions to feral cat overpopulation issues in Loreto, Mexico. In addition to trapping and providing medical care to street cats, Soft Paws supports a large shelter population and community spay/neuter clinics. They also provide community education with a focus on responsible pet ownership.
Aligning Values With Action
As a small, woman-owned business, IBN is intentional about value consistency. The company's support for animal rescue reflects the same principles IBN brings to environmental and social planning: responsibility, stewardship, and a commitment to solutions that acknowledge real-world complexity.
The holiday season reminds us that conservation, like giving, is rarely about choosing one priority over another. It’s about finding balanced approaches that protect ecosystems, respect communities, and care for the animals that depend on both.
I am grateful to the organizations doing this work on the ground, and to IBN's clients and collaborators whose support allowed me to give back during this season and throughout the year.
Happy Holidays everyone!
